Background
TSCO has been authorized by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) to conduct testing under the SASO OXO Biodegradable Plastics program, adding to its growing portfolio of product certification services.
The certification allows TSCO to test and certify OXO biodegradable plastic products against SASO's technical requirements, giving manufacturers and importers a local, accredited pathway to market access in Saudi Arabia.
The scheme is part of a broader regulatory push across the Kingdom to reduce the environmental impact of single-use plastics, with SASO requiring documented evidence of biodegradability before products can be sold in the Saudi market.
Every new certification scheme we add is another product category Saudi manufacturers and importers no longer need to send overseas for testing.
— TSCO Certification of Conformity

This authorization brings TSCO's certification portfolio to ten active schemes, spanning product registration, quality marks, and energy efficiency labeling across Saudi Arabia and neighboring GCC markets.
What the Certification Covers
TSCO's testing determines whether a plastic product meets the biodegradability performance criteria set out in the SASO technical regulation, a requirement for OXO biodegradable products entering the Saudi market.
- Product testing against SASO technical requirements
- Certificate of conformity for market access
- Support for manufacturers preparing product documentation
- Ongoing compliance monitoring for certified products
Part of a Growing Certification Portfolio
TSCO's Certification of Conformity division now supports manufacturers and importers across ten distinct SASO, SFDA, and GCC certification schemes.
